  Hello,

A belated Happy New to you all and fingers crossed that the bad weather holds off after last year's harsh Winter.  Today we have loads of sunshine and it's a cold but calm day. We were delighted to have one of the busiest Christmas and New Years  and pleased so many guests have already rebooked.

White Horse lodge Hotel in Thirsk has proved a popular destination both with leisure and business guests and has had a great start to the New Year too.

UPGRADE UPDATE!

As mentioned above we have now completed a complete overhaul of the third floor stairs and corridors which has brought a great fresh, light feel to the top floor

All the rooms along the wing above our George III Suite overlooking the car park and trees have new bathrooms, carpets and soft furnishings

One of our most popular Bay View rooms room 201 has been upgraded complete with king size bed, complementing the stunning views from its panoramic bay view window.  The bathroom is on hold as the room was already booked out for weeks ahead but on our schedule

The Great Hall and adjoining areas have been redecorated and uplifted ready for another busy year of Weddings and completed just in time for our 1^st of the year last week.

CHEFS RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Beef and Vegetable Pie

Ingredients

• 200g Stewing Steak
• 1 Carrot
• ½ Onion
• ¼ Swede
• 1 Parsnip
• 400ml Beef Stock
• 2 Table Spoons Flour
• 300g Flour
• 150g Butter
• 2 Eggs

Preparation Method

1. Fry Stewing Steak until Golden Brown
2. Add Flour to Meat and Cook Gently
3. Add 400ml Warm Beef Stock Stir until Thickened
4. Add Diced Vegetables
5. Slowly Cook for 2 ½ Hours Adding Water if Needed 
6. Meanwhile make Pastry, Mix Flour & Butter until Crumble Texture (Bread Crumbs) Add Eggs until Comes Together
7. Rest Pastry in Fridge
8. Season Meat Pie Filling to Taste
9. Place in Oven Dish Top with Pastry and Cook for 30-40 Minutes
